San Diego to Las Vegas Ride

This journey starts near the Tecate border in the small town of Potrero. We’ll saddle up and head north towards the San Diego Mountains. We grab lunch, then head down into the desert. The first night we stay in Borrego Springs. It’s known for golf courses, quirky desert artwork, and mild winter temperatures.

Day 2 – We continue north, traversing the desert, gaining elevation as we head into Joshua Tree National Park. This area is well known for its unmatched desert scenery and unusual plant life. We’ll stay in a unique Airbnb-style home and have dinner at the legendary Pioneertown. We’ll check out the historic town, then sit down for dinner at Pappy’s Saloon.

Day 3 – This is where riders will have the option to finish in Laughlin or spend an extra day riding to Las Vegas. The group will ride out of Joshua Tree and soak up the scenery as they head north. You’ll be heading into the rugged Nevada desert. The scenery will start to change as you enter the Mojave Desert. These old routes have so much history, from the mining mule teams to the stagecoach traffic on the Spanish trail; it will be hard to imagine how they traversed the rugged desert terrain. We land in the town of Laughlin on the Colorado River; you made it to Nevada. We’ll stay the night at a local casino where you can try your luck at the tables or slots.

Day 4 (optional)- It’s time to dig deep and head toward the city that never sleeps. The group will follow the Colorado River north towards Henderson, Nevada. This area is known for date farms and river enthusiasts. We will stop at a riverfront saloon for lunch, then enjoy beautiful 2-track trails into Henderson. From Henderson, we can load up to avoid heavy traffic into Las Vegas, or go for the full-pull riding the Las Vegas strip into the hotel of your choice.
